The bulk of the information contained in this booklet has been taken from Holy Innocents Lamarsh-Church and Rector by the late Montgomery Burnett. This scholarly treatise includes much further information on the history of the church and its rectors which is available on our website, www.lamarshchurch.org.uk . Mr Burnett, in turn, relied on the Essex Record Office, which retains most of the ancient documents on which this history is based.
The majority of the photographs of the church, its contents and grounds were taken by photographer Barry Meekums FRSA who used to live in Lamarsh and the text written by Robert F Erith, TD DL, who was a Churchwarden for 40 years from 1969.
Thanks are also due to the many parishioners who have kindly contributed material for this booklet.
